Connor McCaffery has chosen his side in the ongoing musical battle between rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar the moment he hit that like button on these posts shared on X, featuring Drake’s new single. Recently, the two have taken the internet by storm, releasing back-to-back singles dissing each other’s version revolving around the issue of who out of these two is the current holder of hip-hop’s crown.

Yesterday morning brought with it a song capable of initiating a domino effect with the two rappers fighting a lyrical battle that seems to have gone too far. Kendrick Lamar released his new track called ‘6:16 in LA’ yesterday, dissing Drake.

In his song, Lamar calls out Drake for being an absent father when he sings, “You lied about your son, you lied about your daughter, huh, you lied about them other kids that’s out there hoping that you come,” indicating that Drake has a daughter who is not known to the world.

As the day matured, Drake released another track later on Friday night called, ‘Family Matters’, which was again dissed by Lamar in his response tracks called, ‘Euphoria’ and ‘Meet the Grahams’. Taking things down to personal town, Drake rapped in stern lyrics that went, “You mentioned my seed now deal with his dad. I gotta go bad, I gotta go bad.”

Things went to another level of crazy when Drake sings, “Say you hate the girls I f*ck but what you really mean / I been with Black and white and everything in between / You the Black messiah wifing up a mixed queen / And hit vanilla cream to help out with your self-esteem.”

During the halftime report for the NBA’s playoff series’ Game 5 matchup between the LA Clippers and Dallas Mavericks, the TNT crew played one of Lamar’s latest tracks ‘Euphoria’. On hearing the song, former NBA champ Kenny Smith remarked, “C’mon man … Why y’all putting us in the middle of the rap beef? We gonna play one side, we gotta play the other side.”

Listening to Smith’s response, NBA legend Charles Barkley aka ‘Sir Charles’ took a sarcastic jab saying, “Rap beef… Grown-a** man,” while Shaquille O’Neal enjoyed the song calling out the DJ on the set.
