Angel Reese is making WNBA history—do you think she’s the future face of women's basketball?

The Chicago Sky and Coach Teresa Weatherspoon can’t feel more blessed as rookie Angel Reese continues to raise the bar in the WNBA. Yesterday, she added the 14th installment to her consecutive double-double streak in the closing moments of a 78-69 win over the Atlanta Dream. Reese extended this record with 11 points and 13 rebounds. The game was indeed a tug fight between Chicago and Atlanta Dream, but it was the last minute that stole the spotlight leaving Coach ‘T- Spoon’ in awe when she saw the Sky’s growing bond between the teammates.

As a result, in the postgame interview, Teresa Weatherspoon couldn’t be more touched by the beautiful spectate with fans calling out Reese to push for another double-double and continue her streak. And so, Weatherspoon made a heartfelt statement and said, “I’m so locked in on the game and I actually saw my own players. That’s a form of a lot of love and celebration for someone’s individual accomplishment because we’re all about team. We’re all about team and so is Angel. But you saw her teammates wanting her to get it, wanting her to keep it alive. So for me, that’s a beautiful thing to see when there’s a lot of love from your teammates for wanting it to stay alive.”

The last couple of minutes gave a perfect glimpse of camaraderie as Angel Reese’s teammates created plays to let her keep up with her double-double streak. There is a lot of fierceness with which the Sky team plays on the court. Similarly, there is a lot of love for one another off of it.

Teresa Weatherspoon truly adores her players

The reporters at the same postgame presser got the opportunity to witness the love coach ‘T-Spoon’ shares with her team when Chennedy Carter and Teresa Weatherspoon shared a lovely moment. “She’s coachable. That’s why you see what you see. I coach Chennedy hard. I coach extremely hard because I can. She responds. She responds to me because she knows I’m not asking for something to do that she can’t do. This is a guard you are looking at right here that can do anything. She does whatever she wants to out there and it’s hard to stop it. So, I coach her hard because I want nothing but greatness from her every night. That’s our All-Star right there.”
