The 2023 WNBA Finals has been one of the most anticipated matchups in recent history as the NY Liberty look to take down the Las Vegas Aces. With both teams having had a stellar regular season where they both registered 30+ wins the Finals this year has been deemed the toughest by many as both teams look to outshine the other. While the NY Liberty have already triumphed over the Aces in the Commissioners Cup earlier this year the script in the Finals hasn’t been the same as the Aces lead the series 2-1.

Despite the disadvantage the NY side will be looking to even the series on Thursday as they look to force a Game 5 and build on the momentum from last night’s victory. Having reached the playoffs for the first time in 20 years a former nemesis of the Liberty gave her predictions on the 2023 WNBA Finals as she cladded LeBron James’ biases.

WNBA legend gives her prediction for the 2023 WNBA Finals

Former WNBA and Houston Comets star Sheryl Swoopes recently made an appearance on the ‘Gil’s Arena’ podcast as the 3x WNBA MVP gave her predictions for the WNBA playoff. Swoopes who was a part of the legendary Houston Comets team that won 4 WNBA titles in a row spoke on various topics with the host Gilbert Arenas including the 2023 WNBA Finals.

Giving her predictions for the Wilson vs Stewart showdown Swoopes believed that the Breanna led Liberty will even the series against Wilson’s Aces as she trusted that there would be a game 5. Elaborating it in detail the 4x WNBA champion stated, “I think it’s going to go 5 games. I think New York wins game 4.”

Continuing her prediction, Sheryl then seemed hesitant to predict the outcome of Game 5 as she stated that “she was never a Liberty fan” due to the history that the Houston Comets and the NY Liberty once shared. Despite having personal grudges with the Liberty, Swoopes still kept her predictions candid and fair as she then replied saying, “I just don’t want the Liberty to ever win, so I need the Aces to win. But I don’t know about Game 5, I really don’t.”

LeBron James’ biases towards A’ja & co

NBA legend LeBron James recently made an appearance during Game 1 of the WNBA Finals as he showed his support for A’ja Wilson and co. Wilson who channeled her inner LeBron during the match was also given a gift by the King as he showed his biasness towards A’ja and the Aces.?Gifting her a pair of LeBron XXIs in black and gold James’ gesture towards the 2x WNBA MVP showed how much he adored his ‘sister’ A’ja as she then went onto put on a stunning performance.

Defeating the Liberty by a score of 99-82 Wilson clinched Game 1 for the Aces with a dominating performance as she scored 19 points and collected 8 rebounds. While LeBron may not be able to show his support on the court with the NBA season now in the horizon his gesture will be appreciated by Wilson who looks to clinch her second WNBA title this Thursday.
