Cameron Brink describes representing your country as one of the biggest honors. Adding yet another 3×3 participation to her resume this year, the 22-year-old hooper is surely on her way to great success. However, while she is quite excited about playing the different format alongside Hailey Van Lith, Rhyne Howard, and Cierra Burdick, there is another thing that makes Brink want to reach Paris much faster.
Sharing her thoughts on what she is looking forward to, Cameron Brink did not waste a second to talk about the Opening Ceremony. She said, “Yeah I think especially the opening ceremony is going to be really cool. Just excited for that, just to be a part of that historic moment and yeah, representing my country but also just admiring and appreciating other countries. Their talents and hard work. It’s going to be really cool.”

This year is going quite well for the Stanford alum. She was the second overall pick and is also leading the league in blocks per game in the first week. Currently, the rookie is already in the starters of the LA Sparks. Moreover, Cameron Brink’s averages of 8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1 steal, and 2.6 blocks per game are also quite remarkable.
Additionally, she is also holding the highest rank in ESPN’s latest rookie list, reigning over the rest. According to Ashley Nicole Moss, Cameron Brink is already in the running for the Rookie of the Year award due to her impressive defensive dominance. However, playing in a 3×3 format is very different from the usual 5×5 format that the Sparks rookie plays in every day.
Cameron Brink draws comparisons between the different formats of the game
Cameron Brink has played 3×3 previously with Hailey Van Lith and Cierra Burdick. Hence, the chosen roster can do quite a lot through the former experience. However, when it comes to the game itself, having a lesser number of players on the floor at one time would mean more responsibility. A 3×3 game is also fast-paced and highly depends on quick decision-making through all the exhaustion.
Nevertheless, the National Defensive Player of the Year was quite happy and excited to be a part of the team. She shared her thoughts saying, “Yeah it’s very different. You don’t have any time to dwell on your mistakes. For a player like me, I am allowed to be more versatile and kind of do a little bit of everything.”
