When the Iowa Hawkeyes took the court against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Sunday, Gabbie Marshall and Kate Martin were there to encourage their former teammates to win the game. However, while this mini-reunion was an essential one, considering the Hawkeyes are in their first season after 24 years without their head coach Lisa Bluder, who took them to two back-to-back Championship Finales, one of their former stars couldn’t make it to the unofficial meet.
“Crop me in next time gang,” Caitlin Clark requested her former teammates when Marshall posted pictures with Martin and the current Hawkeyes’ number 23 Jada Gyamfi on Monday. Marshall was seen in snaps with her boyfriend Spencer Touro and Martin, enjoying the game while making the most of the Hawkeyes’ first on-road victory. “#23’s BIGGEST fan!! 🤍 So good seeing my hawkeye family this weekend 🐥💛,” Marshall wrote as the caption.

While Gyamfi did not take the court against the Hokies, Marshall had “JADA HYPE GIRL” printed on her t-shirt. As for the game, the Hawkeyes won the matchup by a 71-52 tally. And hence, during the celebrations, everyone would have missed Clark who was busy with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery.
After her advent into the WNBA, Clark now also has responsibilities towards the Indiana Fever. Therefore, when their male counterparts- the Indiana Pacers took the court against the New York Knicks at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse Arena on Sunday, Clark, who has been busy in the off-season, playing golf, found the perfect opportunity to support the Pacers and also have a date night with McCaffery.
As it turned out, the Pacers, much like the Hawkeyes, won the game by a 132-121 margin. Seems like the Iowa-alum have Gods in their favor, and hence, whoever they support ends up winning. Meanwhile, when the camera was focused on the ROTY during the game, she laughed with her friends around while waving to her fans. But that caused her to miss the Hawkeyes mini-reunion, which was noticed by many stars.

“I love you!” Once the pictures were posted, Martin, too, expressed her love for Marshall. It looks like when the two were watching the game side by side, they must have had a nice time. Although there is no news of them going out after that, who knows if their party stretched a little bit.
“I love you so much,” Marshall, who was there to cheer for Gyamfi, received a similar sentiment from her as she commented. While Gyamfi was seen posing with Martin and Marshall, she was also seen hugging the latter. At that time, Gyamfi was mimicking a sad expression. Who knows if she could have been talking about not participating in the game?

“I JUST LOVE YOU SO MUCH❤️❤️❤️❤️so happy to see ur cute face,” current Iowa star Sydney Affolter stated. Affolter scored 3 points with 6 rebounds and 3 assists during her 24:06 minutes stay against the Hokies. And her comment reflects that she too was excited seeing her former teammates.
“It’s always a great day when I get to see you cutie pumpkin 😚❤️,” Kylie Feuerbach remarked. Though she scored just 7 points, Feuerbach had 4 rebounds with 5 assists. As mentioned, the Hawkeyes also won their first on-road game.
The only star they would have missed was Clark. It would have been great if she was on the courtside yesterday but she can be given a concession since she was with her boyfriend.
