Out of the Olympics break, Caitlin Clark has surely transformed herself. While she was already breaking records before, she is now also bringing wins over big-time teams. Her methods to improve her teammates, moreover, have not gone to waste either. Consequently, many are placing her ahead in the MVP race than she really might be, giving A’ja Wilson a competition. But not for this WNBA star.
Caitlin Clark has long been cemented into the Rookie of the Year honor. But with her recent theatrics with the Fever, the Iowa sensation is etching her name in the MVP race as well. However, Lexie Brown of all, does not agree. Talking on the Gil’s Arena, the Sparks star gave her MVP award to Wilson without wasting a breath. Spelling out how the Indiana star can outweigh the Las Vegas champion, Brown said, “A’ja would probably have to never not play any more games this year. She’s playing out of her mind right now!”

Surely, Wilson has become a threat to anyone who comes in the Aces’ way. It does not matter if the team wins every game, she is putting up 20+ points in every outing this season. Certainly, the heat has risen in the Sin City. But so has the Fever, literally. They have gone from 2-8 in the beginning of the season to 6-4 in the last ten games. Comparing the MVP cases: Caitlin Clark vs A’ja Wilson
Caitlin Clark has been a polarizing magnet since her entry into the WNBA. Some people don’t seem to stop talking about her and some want to dismiss her work entirely. But nothing will deny the numbers that she is bringing to the league. She is currently leading her team in points (17.8 points per game), assists (8.3 per game), and steals (1.4 per game.) She is also leading the W in assists right now.
The team has won the season series over the Phoenix Mercury with the rookie contributing to over 40% of the total scores. Not to mention, going into the break, she became the only WNBA rookie to log a triple-double and a single-game record with 19 assists. Indeed, MVP competitor-worthy stats. But her opponent is the 2x World Champion and reigning Olympics MVP.
Wilson has been a force to reckon with this season. She is averaging 27.3 points and 12 rebounds on average. She is also leading her team with 2 steals and 2.8 blocks per game. Moreover, she is single-handedly scoring 31% of the team’s total. While the Aces are not looking like the super team that they are this season, they are showing up on every occasion and Wilson is putting up a masterclass. This in turn, only strengthens her MVP frontrunner spot.
