Caitlin Clark has added another feather to her already impressive hat! The reigning Rookie of the Year has broken all sorts of records in the WNBA after already breaking over 46 records and setting the all-time scoring record in the NCAA men’s or women’s basketball. Considered in the MVP conversation this year, some fans were miffed when A’ja Wilson won the award. But some say being the first player in the W to score 1000 points would deserve it. Nevertheless, these two are now competing in a similar off-court pursuit, in a way.
‘Dear Black Girls: How to Be True to You’ by A’ja Wilson was released on February 6, 2024, becoming an instant New York Times bestseller. But now it has been revealed that Caitlin Clark will have her own Little Golden Book biography! To be released on April 15, the book is available for pre-order now for $5.99.
The book, written by Marisa DiNovis and illustrated by Joanie Stone, is one in a long collection of iconic books in the Little Golden Book series. Established in 1942, the series has now become so widely known that adult collectors try to find rare editions from the last century, aka the original 12 books. Safe to say, the CC version will likely become a huge hit and be widely available for any and everyone, and it will be the opposite of rare!

The official blurb also calls it a collectible, and will detail her story from playing in her driveway when she was young to her record-breaking years at the University of Iowa. While not many details are available about the biography book yet, since it’s aimed at children, it will likely contain details about Clark’s career and life in a simple format for easy reading.
There are already a number of existing books on the Fever guard and a new one coming from renowned journalist Christine Brennan. But there’s something just special about the Little Golden Book, which also has editions on everything from Marvel characters to Funko Pops to Stranger Things to E.T., and even almost did a book on Squid Game.
Meanwhile, Wilson’s book, priced at $14 for the hardcover, has garnered positive reviews from critics and even Sheryl Swoopes has advocated it. Now, she’s not a popular Clark fan so the former pro might not be reading the book from Penguin Random House.
