The Indiana Fever is having an exceptional season. While the squad was not clicking at first, they have now turned into one of the most threatening teams in the league right now. All because they have found the chemistry they were lacking. Their golden rookie Caitlin Clark has also made some great fans in the process. Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and her mermaid teammates Lexie Hull and Katie Lou Samuelson all became her close friends. Especially Hull. Hence, the Fever celebrated their shooting guard’s birthday on Friday with much pomp and show, leaving loyalists excited.
“That’s so cute!,” one fan commented on a video posted on the Indiana Fever’s official Instagram handle. The snippet showed the entire group singing “Happy Birthday” led by Clark and her playful antics. After a few seconds, the number one pick, surprisingly, lifted Hull in her arms and made a round with everyone clapping. Looks like a heartwarming moment between the teammates, who usually don’t get brake during the season to spend time together.

Right before their very first clash with the Phoenix Mercury, Hull posted a video of Clark in a pool asking her to play ‘mermaids’. Since then, the duo, along with Katie Lou Samuelson, are often tagged as the ‘Indiana Fever mermaids’. Even when Hull posted pictures of the three from a mini cruise boat in Mexico, their teammate Aliyah Boston commented, “The cutest mermaids 😍😍😍.” And this vacation surely looks to have brought a change in their professional lives.
After the Olympic break, Hull was given the onus of starting for the team. And the former Stanford star did not disappoint. Perhaps, taking inspiration from Clark, she improved her deep shooting skills. As of now, she leads the league in shooting from beyond the arc, having shot 49.3%. When in a press conference, the 25-year-old was asked the recipe behind her success, a playful Clark gave a hilarious reply that “She started hanging out with me more.” This instance once again highlighted the bond shared by the two. Therefore, fans were excited when Clark celebrated her birthday as her candid self.

“Didn’t know Caitlin Clark was that strong 😳😂😂😂,” meanwhile one fan applauded the fact that Clark, who is not known for her physicality, looked quite strong while lifting Hull. Certainly, hours in the gym are paying off for the rookie to grow some muscle.
While the Fever makes merry right now, they have an important task ahead: to prepare for the playoffs to the best of their abilities. And hopefully, the Fever will be able to do this considering the strong bond they share. But for now, they can indeed give a gift to the former Cardinal with a win over the Aces in the season finale.
