Caitlin Clark and Lexie Hull's chemistry—Is this the best duo in women's basketball right now?

“The relationships I’ve built with my teammates is my legacy.” Caitlin Clark was quite clear on what she wanted to be remembered for as she bid adieu to Iowa. And we can see why the Hawkeyes connection runs deep. Just the reason why Gabbie Marshall continues to support the rookie. Even now, Clark only has one goal. That is setting up her teammates. While Marshall is no longer on her team, the Des Moines native has formed new connections, like with Lexie Hull. Some are leading the young squad to success.

The Indiana Fever won its second game back and is just one win away from becoming an above .500 team. The game also marked yet another victory over a team that is in the leading charts of the league. But it wasn’t like this always. In fact, the opening weeks of the Fever brought in multiple losses. The reason? There was no chemistry. However, with every game now, we see how close this 12-player roster has come personally. One instance is Hull waiting for Clark to pass the ball to her while she continues to move.

This play was also special as Caitlin Clark was watching Aliyah Boston in the paint at all times. But when everyone thought the two would go for a pick and roll, the guard fooled the opponents as they saw Hull on the arc, picking the ball and popping a three. The Indiana Fever mermaids clearly had some bonding over the Olympic break when they visited Cabo. And it is certainly not going to waste.

Similar was the case with Gabbie Marshall who continues to build their friendship.

Caitlin Clark has a friend forever in Gabbie Marshall

Whether you look at Lisa Bluder attending the Las Vegas Aces vs Fever games, or Kate Martin sharing love with Clark, you see how much former Hawkeyes respect and love each other. Even Gabbie Marshall, time and again, shows up to watch her former teammates in action. Four months ago, as Caitlin Clark landed in Indiana, Marshall told the Indianapolis Star, “You can just tell how much she loves her teammates and how much she loves her coaches and how much she just loves the game.”

Have an interesting take?

But the love is not lost there. Marshall, despite not getting into the WNBA, appeared at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on April 15 to show her support in celebrating the clear first-overall pick. Also, we have seen her be the first one to comment on Caitlin Clark’s posts on various social handles.

In the rookie’s latest post where she announces the return of the WNBA after the month-long break, Marshall commented, “always proud of you 22 ❤” Caitlin Clark also does not stay behind in returning the love. In Marshall’s recent posts, the Iowa sensation has commented, “You are stunning!!! I miss you.”

While their friendship continues to grow, it is refreshing to see Caitlin Clark also create new bonds. Who knows, maybe Hull and Clark are going to be best friends soon as well. For now, the Indiana loyalists can surely enjoy the duo’s chemistry which is bringing success to the team.
