Caitlin Clark sported a pink Peyton Manning Colts jersey when she was a kid. Hence, she made sure that when she got drafted by the Indiana Fever- which has its roots in Indianapolis, the same town that the Colts belong to – she took every opportunity she got to express her love for Manning. On Saturday, she was seen in attendance at the Indianapolis Colts’ preseason game with her beau. And when she got to the stage the next day before the game against the Seattle Storm, the 22-year-old didn’t shy away from expressing her love for Manning.

Clark was present in a pregame conference on Sunday when she revealed how much she loved Manning and also told about her jersey. “I always had a really great experience here. The crowds are always really great. I wanna…I actually grew up as a Peyton Manning fan and I had this pink Manning Colts jersey. So, it’s going to be funny how life comes a full circle. I have been here a few times, I just loved it and then ever since I’ve got here, I have loved it even more and more,” Clark stated.

The Colts took the lead in the first quarter as they stunned fans with 7 points. The Arizona Cardinals made a stunning comeback in the next quarter scoring 10 points while suffocating the Colts to 0. It was then the Colts took up the onus and scored another 7 in comparison to the Cardinals 3. The fourth quarter saw the Colts scoring another 7 points, ultimately winning the game by a 21-13 margin.

Clark who was spotted with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery in a black tee stated that the game “was still a lot of fun” despite being preseason. She also revealed that her father is a big football fan “so he was enjoying it.” Plus, as per her, it helped her take her mind off basketball for some time. She also admitted that Indianapolis is a city that loves and “supports all sports.” She further reminisced that as a child she used to watch all sports. As for Manning, he reciprocated the love Clark gave him by helping the Fever rookie.

Peyton Manning has equal respect for Caitlin Clark

While promoting Full-Court Press, a series produced by Manning on women’s basketball stars, the 48-year-old took notice of Clark. He stated that he “enjoyed” knowing Clark through the series. Plus, he also admitted being happy after knowing that Clark is his fan. Furthermore, he revealed that he had given Clark all his contacts “at the airport” and opined that she would love Indianapolis.

Notably, Clark is one of the other big names apart from Manning to be representing Indianapolis. And surely, the fans seem to have a nice time supporting the former Iowa-alum.

Now that Clark has expressed her love for Manning, we can only hope that the two legends someday will talk to each other on camera, so that we, as fans, can get great anecdotes about the two. As for now, Clark looks stunning against the Seattle Storm as she broke two records in a single day.
