As a kid in West Des Moines, Iowa, Caitlin Clark often dreamt of giving back to the community. What she didn’t realize at the time was that her viral hoop skills would enable her to solve a problem impacting 1 in 5 kids in the US. Hunger. She then aspired to “help make sure each child has the energy they need to succeed.” Now, the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer and the WNBA’s biggest asset is making things happen with her longest-standing brand partner, Hy-Vee, propelling her long-lost wish to come true.
Luxury cars? Private beaches? Spacious villas? Surely all this would’ve come to mind first, right? At the first sight of making BIG money. Caitlin Clark, though, had different ideas altogether. She has been working with Hy-Vee, a popular mid-west supermarket, to combat childhood hunger. The collab aims to not only raise awareness about the same but also to step up efforts to help children who deal daily with food insecurity. It’s an issue close to Clark’s heart and she’s using her voice to ensure fewer children go without food.
In 2021, Caitlin said of Hy-Vee, “When NIL was becoming a reality, I told my business team that I love Hy-Vee. We have really similar values in being our best, taking care of others and engaging in the community.”

Known for its quality and community commitment, Hy-Vee has over 570 stores in nine Midwestern states. Also, recently they were named USA TODAY’s No. 1 Grocery Store in America. Due to Hy-Vee’s reach across those nine states and its dedication to giving back to communities, they’ve turned out to be the perfect partner for Caitlin Clark, as both sides set out to fight hunger.
One way they’re doing that is the Caitlin Clark Foundation Round Up campaign. From 1st – 31st March, customers at all Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market, and Fast & Fresh locations can round up their purchases to the nearest dollar at the counter.
100% of the funds raised go directly towards supporting the Caitlin Clark Foundation, which partners directly with local Feeding America partner food banks to provide nutritious meals to needy families!

The overarching theme here is the YOUTH.
With the youngsters at the epicenter, Clark and her foundation are helping them with ‘nutrition, education, and sports’. It’s not just about raising money; this is just a signal. It’s a lesson that shows how there’s power in numbers. And when the masses rally for a cause, change happens.
Caitlin Clark and Hy-Vee are evidence that just taking a little interest can lead to something big and impactful — and that we all have a part to play in tackling larger issues.
