The AT&T WNBA All-Star game surely lived up to its hype. A neck-to-neck contest between two teams having the very best woman basketball players in the country graced the Footprint Center Phoenix in Arizona. But the participating athletes are not the only talking points of the night. As it turns out, the game is also carrying Kobe Bryant’s touch as well with wife Venessa and 3 daughters gracing the occasion with their presence. But, before that, the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer Caitlin Clark extended a very special gesture towards the whole family.

It seems that Caitlin Clark has another way to connect to legendary Kobe Bryant apart from donning the Nike Kobe 6 Protro sneakers for the All-Star game. As it turns out, just before she made her All-Star debut, she greeted the whole family who occupied the front-row seats. Coincidently, the youngest daughter of the family Capri Kobe Bryant had the exact same footwear at Clark’s. Consequently, this was enough to create quite a delight among them.

Caitlin Clark received these shoes just a day earlier from Venessa Bryant. Soon after, she also spared some affectionate words towards the Bryants. She went on and said, “I’m a Kobe person, everybody knows that. Like, it’s the best shoe, it’s not even close. Obviously just to wear his shoes, obviously what Vanessa and their family have done, and continuing his legacy with his shoes. So, I feel very lucky and fortunate to not only represent Nike but also their entire family”.

Anyhow, her tribute to Kobe through these special sneakers was applauded by many on social media. That list also includes a certain sports entity.

Soon after the official Instagram page of Nice Kicks shared this development, reactions started pouring in. Amidst the high-profile names who adored the post was the most decorated Olympian of all time Michael Phelps. He not only hit the like button but also pasted 😍😍😍😍 on the post.

This is not the first time that the champion swimmer has expressed something in relation to the 2× USBWA National Player of the Year. During the March Madness, Caitlin Clark revealed that Phelps is the cellphone wallpaper on her phone. To which the 23-time Olympic gold medalist took no time in replying, “Honored!!! This is so cool!”. 

It is no secret that Caitlin Clark enjoys her fair share of admiration among popular names. Her aura is not only charismatic but also manages to captivate whosoever interacts with her. Clearly, this off-court skill of hers is equally commendable to the ones she possesses on the hardwood.
