Does Caitlin Clark's emotional return to Iowa signal a deeper connection to her college roots?

Though Caitlin Clark had divulged that she would be playing golf in the offseason, she is still finding time for other things. Sometimes she can be spotted sipping her favorite beverage with Lexie Hull, at others, the 22-year-old is seen attending events with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery. But staying true to her faithful friend image, Clark recently made a visit to her alma mater- the University of Iowa, where she celebrated her on-court presence in an amazing way.

Clark was back to the Hawkeyes after months on Friday and one thing she did was get to the basketball court. The current Hawkeyes head coach Jan Jensen was busy training her mentees. During the play, Kylie Feuerbach, in an attempt to score, made a pass to Addison O’Grady, who returned the ball to Feuerbach as she went inside the paint. The No. 4 then made a layup, overwhelming Clark with emotions as she ran across the court to celebrate the basket.

As Clark was in Iowa, she also met her three close college friends namely Gabbie Marshall, Jada Gyamfi, and Kate Martin. They made a TikTok together where the four can be seen lip-syncing Kim Kardashian’s famous dialogue “OkayguysWe‘re backDid you miss us? ‘Cause we missed you” and indeed it was a happy moment for her fans who would have missed seeing them together after Hull & Co. have formed a deep bond with the Fever rookie. While all this transpired, fans applauded Clark for finding time despite a hectic golf schedule.

Caitlin Clark ignores golf for basketball

Clark is looking forward to participating in the LPGA Pro-Am event The Annika in November and practicing for the same. Recently she was seen learning from ex-LPGA star Martha Foyer-Faulconer. While Foyer-Faulconer applauded Clark for learning new skills, she also revealed that the Des Moines-born is hunting for a golf house in the Hoosier State. Hence, with so many commitments, it looks like Clark will have to ignore the Unrivaled League which is set to start in January. However, Clark, once again, stunned all by not only going to her college but also showing her three-point skills in Indiana.

In a recently uploaded video on X, Clark hits 25 threes consecutively, giving everyone a sign of what’s to come next season. Notably, Clark this season, became the highest three-pointer scorer by hitting 122 shots from beyond the arc. But she failed to surpass Sabrina Ionescu who had scored 128 in 2023. Therefore, it looks like the ROTY wants to register herself in record books for her exceptional skills next season. This year, she also did not participate in the three-point shooting contest during the WNBA All-Star night.
