Does Connor McCaffery owe his rising fame more to his coaching skills or Caitlin Clark's spotlight?

Caitlin Clark has always been all about her roots. As the NCAA season kicks off soon, she’s been making her presence felt at Iowa, where it all started for her. But at the same time, the WNBA star is on point in keeping up with her love life and is not leaving any chance to be there for her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery for his first college coaching season.

She made the trek from Iowa City to Indianapolis, 374 miles apart, to ensure she was there to cheer on her boyfriend’s Butler Bulldogs. Just recently, she was spotted at Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium, and then suddenly, a co-host from the Bulldog Bark Podcast confirmed her presence at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

The insider tweeted out a blurry picture of CC in the stands, writing, “Out of respect for her privacy, I wanted to wait until after the game to post this. But WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark was indeed in attendance at Hinkle tonight, cheering on the Butler Bulldogs! Love to see it! #DawgsOnly.”

Looks like Clark is all ready to cheer for McCaffery in his first-ever college coaching stint. And let’s just say he did the crowd proud, as the Bulldogs roared with an 88-47 win in the first and only exhibition game. Having made it clear that she isn’t looking for any basketball stints this off-season, expect to catch a few more glimpses of the Indiana Fever star during these games.

“I’m super excited for him,” Clark had said as McCaffery was appointed as the assistant coach for the Bulldogs back in September. After wrapping up his playing days at Iowa, where he played under his dad, Fran McCaffery, he assisted the Indiana Pacers. He learned from one of the best, and now he’s bringing that experience to Butler.

Head coach Thad Matta praised Connor, saying, “Following a high-level playing career, Connor has had the opportunity to both contribute and learn alongside one of the best staffs in the NBA. Those experiences will be very valuable to our staff. He obviously comes from a basketball family that I know very well and I’m excited for the impact he is going to have on our program both quickly and in the long run,” he added.

Have an interesting take?

We can’t deny that despite having a known last name in college basketball, Connor became quite the talk because of his superstar girlfriend. CC’s incredible season has kept both of them in the limelight. As their love story has become a focal point in sports, they very recently hit the headlines again.

Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend spotted solo at dinner

While Fever’s #22 was reuniting with her Iowa teammates, Connor was spotted enjoying a birthday dinner, but without his girlfriend. The Hawkeyes former was off reuniting with her friends, catching up with former teammates like Kate Martin and Gabbie Marshall.

Connor, on the other hand, was sharing his own experiences at a dinner with the Indiana Mad Ants, the G League affiliate of the Pacers. He reshared Rob Dosier’s story on his handle thats said, “Great bday dinner last night with better people.”

This shows how the couple never compromises their personal commitment while supporting each other when needed. The season opener is on November 4th for the Butler Bulldogs against Missouri State. Clark had admitted she knows how hard McCaffery has worked to get where he is. So with quite the time left until her next WNBA season starts, no doubt Clark is going to show up regularly.
