Wednesday evening turned out to be a roller coaster ride for the WNBA fans. In an enthralling battle, Seattle and Indiana justified all the hype and excitement around it as the game turned out to be a nail-biter. Unfortunately for Indiana fans, the wait is still on to celebrate their first win of the season. However, this matchup became rather intriguing courtesy of a special face-off. Apparently, the Climate Pledge Arena relived the college basketball rivalry between the rookies, Caitlin Clark and Nika Muhl.

Just before the end of the third quarter with the score at 54-51 in favor of Seattle, the crowd witnessed a moment of brilliance. With the clock showing 2:05, Caitlin Clark with the ball in her hand against a charging Nika Muhl launched a 26-foot step back three which found its way to the back of the basket. The classic rookie-on-rookie moment was enough to blow the roof off the place. This exciting turn of events leveled the scores at 54 apiece.

Muhl made her WNBA debut last night after sitting out the first 4 games due to visa complications. She played 3 minutes to finish with no points but ensured her contemporary a good challenge. “I’m very happy with the fact that I got to play my first game against her,” Muhl said. “I love Caitlin…”

The back-and-forth battle continued throughout the remainder of the quarter which Indiana finished with a 2-point lead. Following this, the home team turned the tides in their favor with a 7-0 run in the opening minutes of the penultimate quarter. The Fever kept coming back but weren’t able to overcome the deficit and eventually ended up on the losing side. The final scoreline reflected a marginal 85-83 victory for the Storm.

Anyhow, the evening proved to be yet another productive outing for the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer.

For the fourth time this season, Caitlin Clark ended up being the top performer for Indiana. Her 33 minutes on the hardwood resulted in 21 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 assists. This takes her tally of total points scored in the WNBA so far to 89.

In addition to this, the 6-foot-guard was 6 of 16 shooting from the field but only had 25% (2 of 8) accuracy from beyond the arc. Some improvements can be easily noticed in her turnover numbers as she limited it to just 3 for the night. Further, the conversion of 7 shots from her 9 attempts from the free throw line is also an impressive stat.
