At this point, calling Caitlin Clark just a basketball star is almost unfair. Sure, she has left her mark in the WNBA in her very first season, but she has got more than one sport up her sleeve. One of her favorites, obviously after basketball, has to be golf and now she is set to prove her potential in that, too. But, amidst it all, she revealed how golf is her favorite hobby. 

Discussing her fondness for gold, she said, “It is fun, I have some cool Nike golf shoes. I love being outside.” “That’s the only downside about the WNBA, it’s during summer, that’s when you golf,” she revealed.

Also, while most are enjoying their vacations, the ROTY sharpening her golf game somewhere in the midwest. But let us tell you, she is not just playing around, she is preparing to head to The Annika in November, one of the last tournaments on the LPGA Tour. 

The best part is, along with playing in the pro arm, she is also on the panel of the Women’s Leadership Summit at the Pelican Golf Club. Well, she once joked about becoming a professional player, and it looks like she is about to. 

“I love golf, so the opportunity to play in the pro-am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s name on it is so exciting,” she said. “I’m looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women’s Leadership Summit, and, of course, teeing it up in the pro-am with Annika.”

But the basketball and now a golf star will not be alone in the spotlight. She’ll share it with Nelly Korda, another young sports star who’s absolutely killing it in golf.

In case, you are familiar with Korda’s achievements. She has won six of her first eight tournaments in 2024 and even clinched a major championship at the Chevron in April. Gold World has already started comparing her to Serena Williams. 

And now, Caitlin and Nelly are together at the same event? It’s going to be a treat to watch! Both athletes might pursue different sports, but there’s one thing in common: bringing more attention to their sport. The 26-year-old has done wonders for women’s golf this season.

She has been raising awareness for women’s golf all year, especially with her stellar performance at the Solheim Cup last month. Meanwhile,  the 22-year-old was the reason behind multiple soldouts during Indiana Fever’s matches.

Thanks to her and stars like Sabrina Ionescu, Napheesa Collier, and more, the WNBA had its highest TV ratings ever, with an average of 675,000 viewers per game. And that’s not a coincidence—both of these women have been working hard and polishing their skills over the years. 

So when Caitlin Clark and Nelly Korda will be present in the same pro-am event, it’s more than just a casual game of golf. They are just getting started, and yet, they’ve already proved their worth. Get ready to see fans glued!
