Caitlin Clark is gearing up to dominate the WNBA this season, fueled by a bold statement from a national coach who hinted at her ability to outshine many of the players from the league. Just days after celebrating her 23rd birthday, the Fever star wasted no time returning to work, diving into her first off-season workout and gearing up for the upcoming WNBA season.

In a recent episode on her YouTube channel, former collegiate basketball player Rachel DeMita stated,

“No matter what team’s throw at her she can handle that, he [Keith Porter] said, he wants her to feel so comfortable in her skill-set that it doesn’t matter what the defense does and he wants other teams to feel like they are just going to have to accept getting buckets from Caitlin Clark.”

Keith Porter joined the Fever’s coaching staff in December as a player development coach, quickly becoming a valuable addition to the team. His focus is on helping Caitlin Clark confidently handle any defensive strategy thrown her way, ensuring she feels completely at ease with her skill set. Porter’s ultimate goal is to make opposing teams accept that, no matter what they try, stopping Clark from scoring will be a nearly impossible task.

Caitlin Clark’s offseason: training and exciting possibilities ahead

With the WNBA season set to begin on May 16th, many top players are seizing the offseason to compete in the new Unrivaled League. This exciting 3v3 women’s professional basketball league, running from January 17 through March 17, features 36 WNBA stars battling it out on the court. It’s a unique chance for these athletes to stay in game shape and showcase their skills in a different format before the WNBA season kicks off.

However, Caitlin Clark is focusing solely on her training. While joining the Unrivaled League could have been a great move for both the league and her—bringing more attention to the league and offering valuable competition during the offseason—Clark has chosen to stay committed to honing her skills.

Meanwhile, there’s growing buzz about Clark potentially participating in NBA All-Star weekend, where she might face off against sharpshooter Klay Thompson in a thrilling three-point contest.
