Coming out of the NCAA this year were two big stars- Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. The two were expected to take on the WNBA big time and the duo did just that. But unfortunately, their fortunes aren’t written with the same ink. While Clark continues to rejoice in her time with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery in the offseason and don extravagant dresses, Reese is struggling on the sidelines with her rent issues which the WNBA salary isn’t enough for.
Clark was recently seen at the Pacers Foundation Golden Gala on Saturday. And you guessed it right: she was with her boyfriend Connor McCaffery, who just months ago ditched the Pacers to join the Buttler Bulldogs as an assistant coach. However, going by their presence, it looks like McCaffery is on good terms with the management even after resigning from the job.
While McCaffery was dressed in a black suit, Clark chose a black slip-on dress for the event. The point guard paired the outfit with a shimmery silver clutch and matching strappy heels. She also wore a Bezel Lariat Pendant that was attached to a $14k white gold neckpiece along with ¾ carat lab-grown diamonds. The pendant was estimated to be $1050, while the total price of the jewelry is not known. Meanwhile, the Gala was a hit.

The inaugural gala featured Pacers and Fever stars and was held at the Commission Row which is next to the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The tickets for the event were open to the public who could enjoy the night along with the stars. For a truly rewarding experience, the place had casino tables and music jukeboxes. All this made it extremely enjoyable for the attendees. Therefore, while Clark is making the most of the season, unfortunately, Reese is going through a different story.

Angel Reese struggles with her rent issues
The LSU alum was once the NIL Queen, sitting atop a valuation of a whopping $1 million. However, the professional world has been a little different for her. Reese was drafted as the seventh overall pick in this year’s WNBA draft. She inked a four-year contract with the Chicago Sky worth $324,38. This year, she is expected to earn $73,439. But what contributes a major part to her earnings are her deals with Reebok, Beats by Dre, and Reese’s Pieces. However, if it were only for her rookie year contract, according to her own admission, she wouldn’t have been able to pay her Chicago rent.

“I just hope y’all know, the WNBA don’t pay my bills at all. I don’t even think it pays one of my bills, literally… I’m living beyond my means!” Reese enumerated on an Instagram live recently before also expressing that the popularity she has gained while some W fans hated her, has helped her pay bills. Notably, she is paying $8K as rent, and if her monthly salary is considered then it would come around $6,119.91. Indeed, not enough.

But that doesn’t mean that Reese hasn’t enjoyed her time in expensive dresses. She is known for her pregame appearances and hopefully, she will charm all with her swag. As for Clark, she is all dressed-up to enjoy a much-deserved break and dolling up in a classy dress is surely a way to go!
