It’s no longer only the WNBA that has the buzz around its star rookie Caitlin Clark. The WNBA No. 1 draft pick has managed to create a buzz in the NASCAR world as well, as she achieved a remarkable feat. Something that the NBA legend Michael Jordan cannot yet boast of. But what is it, and how has it got the NASCAR driver appreciating the WNBA rookie?
Caitlin Clark was recently featured on the hood of the No. 4 car of the Stewart-Haas Racing, which is driven by Josh Berry. And ahead of the Pennzoil 250, Josh Berry had nothing but praise for Clark in the media interaction. “It’s a, it really is a great opportunity to have her on the hood of our race car. The amount of reach and popularity she’s gained over the last couple years has been really amazing to watch and just how it’s kind of transcended women’s basketball. Obviously, being a girl dad, you don’t necessarily put the two together right now, but as she grows older I’m sure it will be a pretty cool thing to look back on as she continues her career,” Berry stated.

Clark had signed a deal with Panini cards. They launched her Caitlin Clark collection in early July. Hence, the company also utilized her image on the hood of the Ford Mustang. Just like the cards, this move aims to laud her NCAA accomplishments. Clark can be seen in the Hawkeyes jersey trying to score her signature three. The hood also has “Raining 3” written over it. Plus, the color schemes complement Clark’s time at Iowa.

This feat hasn’t even been accomplished by Jordan who has been the co-owner of 23XI Racing since 2021. But despite that fact, Jordan never had his face on a racing car. Therefore, this is a special accomplishment for Clark and Berry’s words just highlighted that. Berry notably had his first girl child in January 2020. She has been named Mackenzie Berry. Plus, he and his wife are expecting another daughter in October this month, which makes honoring Clark all the more special as she stands as a model of inspiration. Plus, the upcoming event is at Indianapolis which is Clark’s home.
Pennzoil 250 to take place on Saturday
The Pennzoil 250 will take place in Indianapolis on Saturday. Berry is placed at the 10th spot in the qualifying order with a timing of 28.900. His Clark printed car will attract a lot of attention since Clark plies her trade for Indiana. Hopefully, that will translate to more fans tuning in to watch the race and bringing the NASCAR 2024 Xfinity Series to the spotlight.
