There seems to be no one who does not get transfixed when Caitlin Clark makes her signature deep threes. Something similar is happening with her new team as they get into the second day of the training camp. Previously, the 22-year-old won her new coach’s heart with her passing abilities and now she did it to her teammate and WNBA veteran Erica Wheeler. Hence, fans commending the Iowa standout after her immaculate performances in the gym is only natural.

The Indiana Fever’s official Instagram page shared their rookie going against their staff and making a step-back three. They captioned the post, “@caitlinclark22 hits the step-back three and @eweezy_3 loves it 🔥 day 2 of training camp is here.”

While the 2x Naismith honoree’s shot was the attraction of the clip, Wheeler’s amusing reaction even before Clark shot the ball took the spotlight. In the video, just as Clark shifts to her left, the 2019 WNBA All-Star Game MVP starts chanting, “Bye Bye Boy!”

In another video, Clark is also seen winning the first halfcourt shot contest of the season as the team practices in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. However, giving a humorous turn to the event, Kelsey Mitchel asked the Logo-3 master to take a few steps back because of the shot. According to her, “She needs to start all the way back there because her regular shot starts right here.”

Just like her teammates and coach Christie Sides, fans too cannot get enough of Clark.

“Caitlin doing Caitlin things!”

It was the threes, the passing, and the speed at which Caitlin Clark dominated the floor that got everyone’s attention on day 1. Now, she has stepped up her game with just four days remaining to her first pre-season game in Indiana colors. But looks like the fans have still not forgotten the request to get the generational talent into the NBA. One Instagram user quickly chimed in on the comments sections suggesting that she should be a part of the men’s professional league.

“Forget the wnba put her in the nba fr.” Interestingly, Clark making deep threes is nothing new. As per a CBB analytics report in March, Clark had made 84 field goals considered long three-pointers beyond 25 feet. For context, the NBA’s three-point line is 25 feet 9 inches at the top of the key. This is a record in NCAA men’s or women’s basketball. That’s why another fan wrote, “Caitlin doing Caitlin things!

One Clark fan went as far as saying that they would not have it if the NCAA’s scoring queen did not win an MVP award this year. Currently, Clark is in the run for both Rookie of the Year and the MVP. Interestingly, the recently retired Candace Parker is the only player in history to win the MVP and Rookie of the Year awards in the same season.

“imma lose my mind if shawty don’t win MVP.” A Fever fan commented on the staff member guarding Caitlin Clark, “Bro almost got his ankles broken.

There is no denying that Clark is getting a lot of love and support from her new team. Indiana too has been good to her so far. Hence, one of the followers correctly interpreted Wheeler’s reaction to the step-back three in their comment. “Erica loves her so much.”

With the regular season kicking off in just a few days, it will be worth watching if Clark can put the shots in the baskets with professionals guarding her. Nevertheless, seems like she is on her routine for now. And that is, wreaking havoc on the floor.
