Caitlin Clark is making the most of her first offseason in the WNBA, being by her loved ones. However, while she enjoys her break, her boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, remains busy as an assistant coach for Butler. But the Indiana Fever star isn’t letting him tread alone. Be it choosing the Bulldogs game over the Hawkeyes or the Thanksgiving celebration, Clark has her priorities clear.
Her latest appearance at the Ariza Tipoff was a special one, as the 2024 ROTY brought her family along to enjoy some Butler basketball. Seated among the audience, Clark had her brothers on her right and her parents on her left, creating an endearing family moment. However, supporting the 22-year-old Iowa native and her boyfriend came with a small sacrifice—Clark’s family delayed their Thanksgiving celebration to make it to the game.

Caitlin Clark has consistently supported her beloved Butler basketball team by attending as many games as she can, from the season opener to their recent matchups. Surprisingly, her presence often coincides with wins.
Infact, Butler has won four of their last five games when she attended. In their recent game against the Northwestern Wildcats, the Butler Bulldogs were leading by 5 points with one minute remaining in the second quarter.

Despite delaying her own Thanksgiving celebration, Clark did not cancel it.
Thanksgiving proves to be a timeless way to bring people together. Though it was delayed for Caitlin Clark, she did not miss the opportunity to celebrate it with her Iowa teammates. While she wasn’t there physically, she dived into the comment section. It was right after the Iowa Hawkeyes women posted a video where players and coaches discussed their Thanksgiving preferences.
At one point in the video, a Hawkeyes assistant coach shared her take: “Pumpkin pie…” and then gave a thumbs-down sign. As the video appeared on Clark’s feed, she couldn’t resist commenting, “Facts Raina.”

No doubt pumpkin pie is the most polarizing Thanksgiving food, but it’s not what Clark would have expected. For her, the ideal food is mashed potatoes with gravy.
“The best is mashed potatoes and gravy. And then you just pour so much gravy on it that it overflows onto your entire plate, and you just have a pool of gravy on your plate,” shared Iowa Hawkeyes retired #22 honoree. But Clark’s Thanksgiving isn’t limited to spending time with family, supporting her family, or even having mashed potatoes with gravy. It also includes saving two turkeys this Thanksgiving.
