The Indiana Fever played against the Seattle Storm on Thursday at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The match had a neck-to-neck competition as the Storm outdid the Fever by a narrow margin of 103-88. However, what caught the eyes was a scuffle between the Fever’s main star Caitlin Clark, and the Storm’s Victoria Vivians.
The altercation happened in the second quarter as Vivians spoke some rude words to Clark. Clark responded back with her aggression and moved towards Vivians, who didn’t back down. Seeing the two rising stars confront each other, the Fever icon Aliyah Boston got in between the duo and took Clark away from Vivian.
And now after the argument, the Storm’s head coach Noelle Quinn shared her take when questioned on the heated affair between Clark and Vivians. Quinn didn’t give much weight to the quarrel and instead opined that they are common occurrences in a high-voltage clash, during the post-match press conference on Thursday. Her reply reflected her maturity.

“I didn’t see it but what I saw is competitors on the floor playing hard and you know competing at a high level. You know Christie, you know supporting our team… Just high level competition,” Quinn stated on the official YouTube channel of TJ Sports Queens.
Thus, Quinn put her five-year coaching experience to use and brushed off any rumors of animosity between Clark and Vivians. Talking about her win, Quinn acknowledged the physicality and aggression in the game, and by her words, it looked as if she took the challenges in good stride.
“Again started on the defensive side of the ball. Being very attentive to our scout. Whether it was Clark, whether it was Kelsey Mitchell. I know Smith got a little bit loose at the beginning… You know meeting their physicality with physicality… sustaining it and we talked about if we get stops we can run. Even in our, you know, half-court offense there are things that we can get if we’re very intentional about, you know, being aggressive and being physical… So again both sides of the ball but I… I will start on the defensive side of the ball,” Noelle Quinn remarked.
The first half had the Fever trailing by 47-41 to the Storm. The next half was again extremely competitive as both sides gave their best. However, the Storm won the game by a margin of 103-88. Previously, too they had been loggerheads this season when the Storm had trumped the Fever by a close margin of 85-83 on May 22. Probably it is this physicality that motivates the Storm to outclass their opponents. Meanwhile, it wasn’t only Noelle Quinn who took the argument in a competitive spirit.
Patrick Beverley admires Caitlin Clark and Victoria Vivians’ scuffle
Even the Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley retweeted the video of Clark and Vivians’ altercation and stated that he loved it. “Competition, Luv It.,” Beverly expounded. A little bit of competition on the court is seen as necessary to spice up the game.
Furthermore, Beverly had previously in his podcast stated that he is an admirer of Clark since she had taken women’s sports up a notch. He featured Clark in his list along with Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry. And Clark found a home among these stalwarts.

While Quinn addressed the issue lightly, hopefully, both Clark and Vivians would also have cooled down and started preparing for their next game.
