Athletes having multisport abilities has often been regarded as the hallmark of true sporting genius and Caitlin Clark seems to be one of them. While she has made her name in the WNBA by her clutch performances and her ability to attract a lot of spectators to the game, she is also quite versatile with other sports such as softball and soccer. And this time she has surprised her fans with an ability and linking that no fan had ever thought about.
In a recent video posted on X, we can see the Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark revealing her liking for the Philadelphia Phillies for her boyfriend Connor McCaffery. “My boyfriend grew up a really big Phillies fan, so I kinda had to… I still like the Cubs, I like the Yankees. I’m not like a diehard any baseball team… I liked the Chiefs before the Chiefs were really good too, so I’m not a bandwagoner either,” read the caption of the post. So where did the fans come to know about this?
The source of this newfound passion was none other than Calrk’s Indiana Fever teammate Lexi Hull. On Wednesday Hull took to her TikTok to post a snippet of how the Indiana Fever’s guard was trying her best to carry on with the play-by-play commentary of the game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Philadelphia Phillies. “pov: your friend says she’d be a good commentator,” read the caption of the video. By the end of the video, Clark couldn’t keep up with her antics and fell laughing to the bed. But why is Clark’s boyfriend relevant here?

Connor McCaffery, who is Clark’s biggest fan and also a team assistant for the NBA’s Indiana Pacers, is surprisingly also a baseball player. He had started in almost 22 games in 2018-19 and D1Baseball.com even gave him the rating of the seventh-best draft prospect in big tens and 231st best prospect nationally. It can be speculated and as mentioned before, that Caitlin’s inspiration behind her newfound passion is her boyfriend McCaffery. “I’ve kind of been following the Phillies, so I kinda know some of their players… I messed up a few times, but that’s a hard gig! I was out of breath and exhausted… shoutout to all the commentators out there,” read the caption of the X post.
