Time and again Sabrina has shown the basketball world about her exemplary balling skills. However, many people do not know her achievements in total. The Romanian-American hooper has been playing basketball since her childhood. She has won four consecutive North Coast section championships with two state championships. Moreover, she was also a four-time All-State selection as a high-schooler at Miramonte in Orinda, California. Further, she was crowned as the Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2016.

As a freshman, Ionescu led her team to create a record of 27?3 and become a Northern California Section Division II runner-up. She has had one of the most impressive NCAA careers as well. She was a four-time All-American. With such a bright career, she has also recorded 2000 points, 1000 rebounds, and 1000 assists.

These make her the first player in NCAA history to ever achieve such stats. Her nickname — the Triple-Double Queen — comes from the fact that she has set a record for 26 triple-doubles in her NCAA Division I career. If this wasn’t enough, she has also been a two-time PAC-12 Player of the Year.

One of the most surprising facts about Ionescu is that basketball was not the only one of her career choices. She has also played competitive soccer, which was her alternate career option. Ionescu loves soccer and is a fan of the Women’s National Soccer Team of the United States. She is even engaged to her long-time boyfriend and a former Oregon footballer Hroniss Grasu.
