The Chi-Town Barbie kicked off her WNBA proceedings Thursday night when Chicago locked horns with Minnesota. It was not an ideal debut for Angel Reese, as she had to face a disappointing defeat in this pre-season opener. However, there isn’t much time for her to sulk about it, as last year’s WNBA finalists, the New York Liberty, will be paying them a visit at the Wintrust Arena. Amidst this tight window, the 2024 SEC Player of the Year decided to make the most of her limited time.

Angel Reese got herself some off-court time after returning from Minneapolis, Minnesota. She visited a salon post her travel. Here, the rookie had to stay for a while in order to get her pedicure done. Consequently, this somehow frustrated the 3x All-American to some extent, which she reflected on her latest Instagram story, with the caption, “I wish I could drop my hands and feet at the Salon and pick them up later. Being a girl is so time-consuming.”

It is worth noticing that apart from the hectic schedule demanded by her franchise, Reese also has her birthday coming up. As it turns out, two days before the Liberty clash, the 6 ft 3 in forward will be turning 22. It is safe to assume that her visit is a part of her upcoming birthday celebrations on May 6.

Anyhow, her salon visit is not the only interesting development before her birthday. Apparently, Reese’s WNBA debut made some other headlines as well.

Angel Reese’s pre-season game stacks impressive livestream numbers

Despite the WNBA not being able to broadcast the Chicago-Minnesota encounter, it still managed to get a lot of attention. It appears that a fan present there decided to livestream the evening to give a chance to those at home to get a glimpse of the action. Following this, a whopping 173,381 people joined it live.

A proof of this was provided via a screenshot. However, this number reached 434,000 total views by the end of the night. After the game, the Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve was asked to spare some thought on this as per The Chicago Tribune. Reeve replied, “Anybody that watched it should send three bucks to the person. I don’t even know who it is.”
