The debut game for the 2023 national champion Angel Reese has been quite rough. With the hosts in Dallas moving up every chance they get, looks like the Chi-Town Barbie is fuming. So much so that she gave Natasha Howard a deep elbow, resulting in the vet falling off. Consequently, it also drew an offensive foul on Reese.

With just 6.46 on the clock, Angel Reese tried to make a run for the bucket. However, Howard’s continuous guarding shadow kept the defensive star to end the run successfully. It might be said that Reese’s elbow to Dallas’ immaculate performer may have enraged the team as they took off and never looked back until the final buzzer, to go from 70-67 in favor of the Sky at the moment to defeat them 87-79.

The Sky completely dominated the opening quarter and finished the first half with a 3-point lead. Despite the competition being neck-to-neck, the home team had the upper hand in the second half as they outscored Chicago in the remaining 2 quarters. Eventually, it was an inspired effort by Arike Ogunbowale who scored 14 out of her 25 points in the penultimate quarter and secured an 87-79 win in this regular season opener.
