When Angel Reese signed a multi-year NIL deal with Reebok in October 2023, fans weren’t surprised. Reese had her Uncle, Shaquille O’Neal, as the President of Basketball for Reebok, which set the tone for the Chi-Town Barbie. Going forward, she could have opted out by signing a shoe deal with its competitors but according to Reese, she is “bringing Reebok back.” Hence, when Reese dropped her sneakers along with her clothing collection on Friday, her agent couldn’t control her excitement.
Jeanine Ogbonnaya took to the social media networking platform X on Friday to congratulate Reese while taking a subtle dig at the other WNBA stars. She posted pictures of Reese’s shoe collection and pants with the caption, “Best day ever! So proud of you @Reese10Angel, 22 and designed for your own collection (designed it at 21) with a major brand for retail. SHOW ME WHO ELSE IS DOING THIS?!” However, Ogbonnaya later deleted the tweet.

Reese’s collaboration with Reebok named as Reebok x Angel collection hit the shelves on Friday. As per Nick DePaula, it comprises 7 apparel pieces and three shoes. The collection features Reebok x Angel BB 4000 II Basketball Shoes which are priced at $110. Next in line is a tee from Reese that costs $40. Other pieces comprise blue-colored wide-leg pants and a Reebok x Angel vector track jacket which are $70 and $80, respectively. Plus, there are shiny Angel Lux Bike shorts which add to the glamour of the whole collection.
Previously, Reese in a video for Reebok had stated that she likes making her way. “I don’t like doing what everybody do. I like to do the complete opposite,” the 22-year-old stated, as per Yahoo Sports and hence, Ogbonnaya must have congratulated Reese keeping in mind that she is single handedly helping Shaq rebuild the brand. Meanwhile, there is also a fourth Reese sneaker that won’t be available to everyone.

Reese’s fourth sneaker is a redesigned version of Allen Iverson’s “The Answer.” The company made the sneakers keeping the Chi-Town Barbie’s style in mind and also has an “Unapologetically Angel” tag hanging from near the tongue of the sneakers. The shoe is available in silver, blue, and gray colors and can only be bought by Reese’s family and friends. Looks like Shaq is etching Reese’s name in glory.

Meanwhile, Iverson’s sneakers came out in 1999 and were an instant hit among fans. Therefore, the sneaker establishes Reese’s dominance in the basketball circuit, something that will increase her brand value.
It remains to be seen how fans of other WNBA stars react to Ogbonnaya’s tweet. And if other stars come forward to give Reese a difficult time over her agent’s opinions.
