Angel Reese is leaving no stone unturned to showcase her immense potential. The 3x All-American forward is slowly emerging to be a top-notch rookie by delivering notable contributions for the Chicago Sky. Wednesday evening was another such occasion when the 22-year-old gave a phenomenal exhibition. However, this time around she headlines a major rookie development.

The Chicago Sky lost a second game on the trot in their Commissioner’s Cup campaign. Despite a valiant collective effort, the team couldn’t overcome an 8-point deficit and lost the contest 83-75. Nonetheless, from an individual standout, it was a career-high endeavor by the 6 ft 3 in forward. Not only was it the fourth consecutive time that Reese ended her night with a double-double, but she also became the first rookie among the class of 2024 to surpass the 100 mark in points as well as rebounds.

Reese delivered an offensive as well as a defensive masterclass in which she scored 20 points and 10 rebounds. In addition to this, she was 8 of 10 from the field which also happens to be career best effort. Further, Reese’s prowess from the free-throw line was also visible as she converted all 4 attempts. As a result, these turned out to be the best statistics coming out of a Chicago Sky locker room.

Meanwhile, this is not the only rookie achievement that Angel Reese has attached her name to.

Angel Reese sizzling in June

The start of this year’s Commissioner’s Cup has been a perfect platform for Angel Reese to unleash herself. Apart from the game against Caitlin Clark and Co., there is a double-double each time she has stepped inside the court which is the most by any rookie. In addition to this, she’s currently leading the class in points with 70 points so far in June.

A similar story is there in terms of rebounds as well with her tally reaching 57. Consequently, this puts her at the summit of the offensive ratings and makes her share in the team’s victories the most significant. Also, her consistency has resulted in her getting the best player efficiency ratings.
