“Chi-town Barbie” is now “Blonde Barbie”! The 22-year-old Maryland native debuted her blonde hair for the first time on Monday, October 28th, at the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s annual event in New York City. “It’s my first time going all blonde, so I just wanted to switch it up and try something different,” Reese shared. But her blonde hair wasn’t the only surprise she had for fans.
A few minutes after revealing her look, Angel Reese took to her official Snapchat to share a mysterious message. “Guys, we had an amazing night! I’ll upload the concert tomorrow; we have a huge day tomorrow… be prepared to be sick of me,” she teased. Clearly, something exciting is brewing that she’ll reveal soon.
But it wasn’t just her message that caught everyone’s attention—it was her entire look. Reese’s blonde hair was stunning, but her Simkhai gown from the Pre-Fall ‘24 collection paired with a white feathery coat truly stole the show. “I’m wearing Jonathan Simkhai,” Reese told ‘Vogue.’

Undoubtedly, the Chicago Sky forward is making waves from the WNBA to the world of fashion.
Reese wasn’t the only one making waves at the event.
The 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards honored the best in the fashion world, bringing glamor from various industries. Alongside Angel Reese, stars like Blake Lively, Darren Criss, Ella Emhoff, Katie Holmes, Amy Sedaris, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Sebastian Stan graced the event.

“This year’s nominees and honorees represent the full range of American fashion creativity and excellence,” shared Steven Kolb. But this year’s CFDA Awards are a bit different. While past honorees included prominent names like Michelle Obama, Tom Ford, Norma Kamali, Virgil Abloh, and Michael Bloomberg, this year focuses solely on recognized designers.
“As our biggest fundraiser of the year, the CFDA Fashion Awards… significantly contribute to the CFDA Scholarship Fund to support tomorrow’s generation of designers and future nominees and honorees of this special night,” added the CEO of CFDA. For Angel Reese, an invitation to such a prestigious fashion event is no small achievement. It’s a clear sign that, along with her on-court excellence, she’s making her mark in the fashion game too.
