LSU’s Angel Reese is already finding a home in Chicago, both in the team and the fans. Just a few days after the Sky announced her new jersey number, the sales of her jersey have seen a spike. So much so, that if you want to purchase a No. 5 uniform for the upcoming WNBA season, you won’t get them in any size except for one. That is quite a similar situation to her college arch-nemesis Caitlin Clark. Reese was certainly confident in the love she has garnered over her two years at the Baton Rouge, and it has now come to fruition.
The Chi Barbie took it to her X account to announce the news and also show her surprise at the fact. Her latest tweet read, “my jersey already being sold is crazy. i love yallll.” There is no denying that Angel Reese was a huge part of the ‘moment/ momentum’ that women’s college basketball has seen over the last few years.

Reese’s so-called enmity with Caitlin Clark is one of the origins of the visibility that the women’s league has amassed. With her jersey now only available in the X-Large size at the Chicago Sky shop, Reese also joins the club with the Indiana Fever’s No. 22 and her arch-enemy Caitlin Clark.
The Fanatics shop too only has a large size available as of now. The two ladies have almost sold out their jerseys within 10 days of the 2024 WNBA draft. In fact, Clark’s jersey was the most favored of all time, almost selling out within an hour of the draft night at the BMA itself. While Clark brought many fans from Iowa, something similar is the case with the Bayou Barbie.

Reese may have left Baton Rouge, but LSU has not left her. Previously, she announced her new name, Chi Barbie, on social platforms entrusting her LSU fans for support. Now, that she is in the Windy City, the love is visible through the sales. In her last X post, Reese said, “I hope you guys are still fans of me in the WNBA. I know you guys are going to buy all the jerseys and all the gear. I just want to let you guys know that I love y’all and I’ll see you guys soon. Go Tigers!”
Not goodbye, but see you later 🫶
