The college basketball stars have recently transitioned into the WNBA. And as per their own admission, they are having a hard time adjusting to the cut-throat competition. However, the former Louisiana State University Lady Tigers sensation Angel Reese doesn’t think so. Recently, she opined that her head coach Kim Mulkey prepared her for the professional world. ‘I thought training was going to be harder. I think I was really prepared. I didn’t have any WNBA surprises yet,’ Reese stated as per Daily Mail.
She also revealed that she was having four hours of practice that pumped her up for the future challenges “At LSU, our practice was like four hours. We were ready, we were working,” Reese divulged. Hearing these statements, one of Mulkey’s staff Gary Redus came forward to shed some light on Reese’s narrative. He enunciated, “We don’t practice 4 hours every day 😭 But you leave LSU prepared! 💪🏽” on his social media networking handle on X. To which Reese had a reply.
Noticing Redus’ testimony, Reese affirmed that her 90 days of suffering was worth it. The hard training under Mulkey is what has helped her transform into the rookie she is. Currently, she leads the WNBA rookie’s stats ahead of Caitlin Clark. Therefore, Reese shed light on her previous statements, expounding that from September to November she trained for four hours and expressed her thankfulness at where it has got her “not everyday BUT SEPTEMBER TO NOVEMBER USED TO HAVE ME DEADDDD😭 but look at me now, i guess it was all worth it.”

Reese currently averages a decent 12.4-pointers per match with 9.6 rebounds per game. Hopefully, in the next few matches the double-double queen will have her rebounds average also above 10. Her best performance of 20 points came against the Connecticut Sun, therefore Reese has become a mainstay pillar of her team in such a short time – all thanks to her exceptional balling skills which she acquired at the Mulkey’s classes. And Reese’s hard work completely shows on the big stage since other athletes have expressed their difficulties in adjusting to the professional level.
Angel Reese’s arch-rival Caitlin Clark shares her issues
While Reese has been performing exemplary well, her arch-rival Caitlin Clark has shared about the increased physicality in the WNBA. She voiced the problems while transitioning to the cash-rich league. And Reese sure seems to have picked the problem. In a recent encounter with Clark, Reese’s teammate Chennedy Carter pushed Clark to the ground. This also created a lot of controversy but it seemed to have put a stop on Clark, who could only score 11 points in that game.
As for Reese, she has been on the spot with her free throw skills and has made above 75% accurate free throws in most of the games. Though she still has to improve her three-pointer skills, something that was also an issue during her NCAA time, Reese certainly looks to have modified her game.
