While the NCAA 2023-24 season ended and the WNBA started, fortunately for the fans, the Angel Reese–Caitlin Clark rivalry has lived on. The Indiana Fever played their first game against the Chicago Sky on Saturday and Reese and Clark were once again pitted against each other. Known for their cutthroat rivalry the duo had made the NCAA viewer’s favorite as 9.9 million viewers had tuned in to watch the match.
In their first WNBA game, Reese looked to be carrying the competitive spirit and the animosity as she made a strong move against Clark that had all the fans getting angry at her.

Reese during the match pushed Clark as she was trying to stop a shot from the basket. Clark immediately fell on the floor and looked for help from the officials. After smacking her across the chest, Reese stared at her. And as soon as the Sky basketed a point, Reese ran away towards her defense to counter Clark & Co.’s moves. The video of the same was tweeted by an account with the caption “Angel Reese boxing out Caitlin Clark 😂😂😂”

The event reminded everyone of the heat between the two stalwarts that started with the NCAA 2023 Championship Finale that had Reese’s LSU playing against Clark’s Iowa. Reese had then done John Cena’s ‘you can’t see me’ move against Clark which had divided opinions among fans and athletes. Since then, the two have attracted a lot of attention whenever they have clashed.
Subsequently, their teams met last season in the NCAA 2024 Elite Eight when Iowa redeemed itself of the loss during the Championship Finale. Around 12.3 million viewers had tuned in on ESPN during that match to watch the two battle. And now, their WNBA game has attracted a lot of attention. Seeing them fans tweeted their opinion.
Fans share their perspective amid Reese-Clark battle
“At this point you “fans” are Hella soft. It’s a box out. Get physical that’s it. Now any1 who touches CC is a problem lol,” a fan stated. The user was most probably pointing to the fact that Clark was enduring pushes throughout the game but she didn’t get physical.

“Not sure if flop Or if 150 pounds soaking wet. Either way she’s kinda small,” another user stated while pointing 0ut that Clark looked small and timid in comparison to her opponents who were way more physical than her.

“They will keep doing it until her teammates step up,” one user went as far as stating that Clark needed her teammates to step up against the opponents. Maybe do a bit of tit-for-tat.

“Definitely a foul,” one fan also overtly expressed that it should have been called a foul instead of giving points to the Sky for potting the ball.

Clark however had the last laugh in the game as the Fever won the match by a 71-70 margin. And hopefully going ahead for her fans she will also answer such calls where she is pushed with equally aggressive and exemplary performances.
