Celebrations are up for grabs for Angel Reese and Co. as they took over the 2x champions the Las Vegas Aces with a 93-85 victory today. The team avenged themselves from their 83-95 defeat handed by the Aces in their previous face-off. As a result, Angel Reese and the Sky had a celebratory moment in the locker room, also joined in by the King of R&B, Usher.

Posted recently on X, a short video shows Angel Reese and Usher standing next to each other when Usher whispers, “Angel Baby.” Having a fan girl moment, Reese’s expression read pure joy. Just then she directed towards him, “Say – ‘Usher Baby’,” and Usher responded with, “Angel Baby,” repeating himself. Angel Reese then blasted off with wholesome laughter, keeping up the celebratory vibe of this big win.

The Las Vegas Aces’ hosting the Chicago Sky was one of the games fans have been waiting for as both teams have some of the best and most competitive players in the league. But what made this game more interesting is that amidst the audience was the legendary, 8x Grammy Award winner, Usher, sitting courtside.

Usher attending the game wasn’t a complete surprise for the 22-year-old rookie who couldn’t stop gushing over the R&B superstar. She had previously interacted with Usher during her presence at Met Gala. The conversation had also included an invitation to attend a Sky game. “Usher, he said he’s gonna come to the game in Vegas,” Reese admitted previously. Now that he has held his end of the bargain, Reese is hoping to catch up on his concert soon, something the team on the other side of the court has experienced.

Angel Reese is not the only Usher fan

Unlike Angel Reese, it seems to have been a surprise for the Aces star A’ja Wilson as Usher finally made his way to the Las Vegas Aces game. A’ja Wilson’s wish was finally granted after two years when Wilson hilariously urged the singer to attend the team’s championship parade in Vegas.

It was after the Aces had won the 2022 WNBA championship. In the post-game presser when the reporters were asking Wilson about the Aces championship parade, she responded, “Vegas, you got to take 4 shots before you pull up to the parade. You ain’t 4 shots in, don’t come, stay at the house. Children, drink some ginger ale… but Usher, I better see you, Usher, I’m not playing with you, Usher I better see you, Usher.”

Usher, however, had failed to make it to the parade. He instead invited the Aces crew to his concert and gave them a shout out when they made it. But finally today, Wilson and Usher embraced the post-game interaction with Wilson presenting her jersey to Usher as they hugged it out. The moment was posted on WNBA’s social media account on X with the caption, “Dreams do come true.”
