Hardly anyone would argue that Angel Reese knows how to make a comeback. After facing ejection in the Chicago Sky’s previous game against the New York Liberty, the 3x All-American forward responded with a fantastic double-double last night. Consequently, this made the way for Chicago to register an important 79-71 victory over the winless Washington Mystics. The homecoming for the Randallstown, Maryland native became more special as she became a catalyst for an important win for the franchise in the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup. Following this, head coach Teresa Weatherspoon gladly interacted with the media and answered their queries regarding her performance.
One of them was her effectiveness in grabbing the offensive rebounds throughout the night. To this, Weatherspoon said, “It’s a knack. Especially offensively, when the ball goes up, she’s already positioning herself to get an offensive rebound. It’s huge for us because to get those second chance opportunities that she gets for us.”
The 22-year-old had a fantastic outing by securing her 3rd double-double of the season. The 10,000 people present at the Capital One Arena witnessed the Chi Barbie end her night with 16 points, 11 rebounds along with 3 assists and 5 steals. In addition to this, Reese’s 35 minutes on the hardwood also produced a 29.41% efficiency in field goals and a 6 of 8 conversion from the free throw line.
