NBA & NFL gossip shared a couple of videos on X which saw A’ja Wilson and Bam Adebayo on a little outing. “Bam Adebayo and A’Ja Wilson spotted leaving at store and hopping in a car together in Paris. The Miami Heat star was the first to congratulate Wilson after the USA Team USA secured their eight consecutive gold by the tiniest of margins – 66-67. The Aces icon who led the team with 21 points and 13 rebounds rushed courtside to celebrate. First in line, Adebayo shared a special handshake with Wilson and only then did she move ahead to LeBron James and family.
Wilson and Adebayo were first spotted together a month ago. They were seen on, what is speculated as a date in Las Vegas during Team USA camp. The Las Vegas Aces are now tangled in a legal mess after former player Dearica Hamby filed a federal lawsuit against them on Monday. Hamby’s lawsuit accuses the team of discrimination and retaliation, culminating in her trade in January 2023, allegedly due to her pregnancy. She also accused the WNBA of failing to address her complaints.
In September 2023, Hamby filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The WNBA then launched its own investigation, which led to a suspension for Aces coach Becky Hammon for the first two games of the 2023 season due to violations of the league’s ‘Respect in the Workplace’ policies. Moreover, the Aces faced a penalty of losing their first-round pick in 2025 for breaching rules regarding impermissible benefits related to Hamby’s contract.
The new lawsuit reveals additional details about Hamby’s claims. It states that after the Aces signed Hamby to a two-year extension in June 2022, they provided extra benefits like housing and donations for her daughter’s school. However, following her pregnancy announcement, Hamby alleges the team treated her differently, including evicting her from team housing and ignoring her tuition coverage requests.
“We are aware of today’s legal filing and are reviewing the complaint,” a WNBA spokesperson informed News 3.
