The 2024 No.1 WNBA overall draft pick Caitlin Clark headlines another major accomplishment. With a total of 700,735 votes from the media, players, and fans, she emerges as the top selection for this year’s WNBA All-Star team. However, she is not the only Indiana roster chosen to lock horns against A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart of the US Olympic team. As it turns out, teammates Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston will also be joining forces with the 6-foot-guard in this annual spectacle at Phoenix on July 20.
The Indiana Fever faced disappointment at the hands of the Aces late on Tuesday evening. But, there was some delightful news for the elated trio of Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston. It then provided a platform to the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer to reflect on their latest collective feat. She said, “We’re all going to be on the same team. At least we’ll have each other. Obviously, it’s fun, it’s cool. It’s good for our franchise too. Just goes to show the talent we have.”

Clark’s comments come just days after the Indiana Fever received some heavy backlash from the fans. Seemingly, their horrid team chemistry resulted in their loss against the Seattle Storm. Following this, the team bounced back in their impressive show against Phoenix but faltered again today at the hands of back-to-back champions. Nonetheless, there was still some bonding between these three as they combined to score 78.2% (54) of the team’s total points of the night.
While Caitlin Clark capped off the All-Star selections at the summit position garnering a whopping 700,735 votes, teammate Aliyah Boston fell short of the top-most position by 82,055 votes.
Despite the loss, the three of them were still part of a historic WNBA night.
The Caitlin Clark effect in Vegas?
This inter-conference regular season fixture made headlines apart from the Aces’ dominant win. Apparently, the 20,366 fans present at the T-Mobile Arena are the largest regular-season crowd at a WNBA game since 1999. On top of that, Tuesday’s crowd is also the fifth-largest number in WNBA history.
This huge attendance saw the Aces hand Caitlin Clark and Co. an 88-69 defeat. Still, the Indiana rookie managed to register 13 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds next to her name.

For the Caitlin Clark supporters, this was not the outcome that they would have hoped for. As a result, they would be expecting their team to regroup and bounce back against Aces’ 2023 Finals opponents Liberty. What piece of history will the WNBA fans realize then? Only time will tell.
