Johnson was asked a few questions in the limited time the reporters got with him. When asked about Reese and Clark’s current performance, Johnson stated, via TMZSports, “They are doing good.” His cool and calm attitude towards the rising stars hinted that they had something special in store for them if they kept working out as hard as they had been doing.

Next, Johnson was asked about Clark being shoved in the WNBA and an increased physicality in the game. Notably, Chennedy Carter had made a name for herself in the game against Clark when the Fever battled with the Sky. Carter pushed Clark and the latter immediately fell to the ground. Reese who was benched had stood up, clapping for her teammate’s actions. However, Johnson didn’t pay much attention to the matter and divulged “It’s all going to work itself out.”

Furthermore, Johnson seemed to have a message for Reese and Clark. He stated that they just have to continue their game and are doing exceptional things for the league “Just keep playing. They’re doing great things for the league,” he said. For the record, the WNBA ticket sales have increased by 93% since the time the two rookies have transitioned into the biggest league. And with more sales and an increased viewership fans can be sure that there is going to be more exposure for the WNBA stars. Hence, the duo are said to have been doing extremely beneficial things for the league. However, this was not the first time that Johnson had given his opinion on the rookies.

Magic Johnson’s harsh take on Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Cameron Brink

Johnson had given a harsh take during the Jimmy Kimmel Live recently. Though he had accepted at that time that the trio of Cameron Brink, Reese, and Clark were doing extremely positive things for the WNBA, nonetheless they would be tested by the veterans on the court. “Caitlin, Angel, and Brink who plays for my Sparks…They made the WNBA better and um, they’re going to be tested by these incredible women who been in the league for a long time,” Johnson stated.

The 64-year-old also opined that despite the popularity Clark has achieved, she wasn’t the best player in the WNBA. “Caitlin is the most popular WNBA player but she’s not the best at this time just like Larry and I were not the best when we entered the league.”

Perhaps, it was Johnson’s recent words that the rookies needed to relax and stop stressing over their futures. Instead, they should be just continuing their game and waiting for the efforts to compound over time.
