The Las Vegas Aces are going through a rocky road in their quest for the three-peat this season. That doesn’t mean that their kingpin A’ja Wilson can’t rule over the season’s individual accolades chart. The 2023 WNBA Finals MVP is currently occupying the top spot in terms of stacking up numbers for the season. However, this is not the only reason why she is being admired by a certain NBA legend.

The official Instagram page of WNBA on ION shared a very touching moment involving A’ja Wilson. The post features a video in which A’ja Wilson is seen trying to comfort a fan who couldn’t hold back her emotions on being face-to-face with the WNBA star. Seemingly, the reason behind her crying was that she wanted to meet Wilson on her birthday which she gladly fulfilled. In addition to this, the 5× WNBA All-Star also signed a copy of her authorial debut and a New York Times bestseller Dear Black Girls: How to Be True to You.

This heartwarming gesture didn’t take much time to garner the attention of 2008 NBA champion and former Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett. The 48-year-old immediately shared it as a story. Tagging Wilson, he captioned it “Shout to A’ja n her new book.” Moreover, the caption had a range of emojis from a fiery to a saluting one.

The gladsome turn of events transpired from the Aces’ trip to The Gateway Center Arena @ College Park in Atlanta. Unfortunately, the Aces ended up losing the contest 78-74. Nonetheless, they are still managing to make a lot of noise.

A monumental occasion unfolded at the Michelob ULTRA Arena when the Aces took on Seattle on Thursday. Anyhow, the impressive 94-83 victory wasn’t the only interesting development of the evening. As it turns out, the occasion marks the 8th time when their home game has been a sell-out.

This makes the Las Vegas Aces the first franchise to sell out all of its regular season home games in the WNBA history. So far this season, they had mixed fortunes on their home turf as they have won 4 out of their 8 games.

A joyous affair for A’ja Wilson and the rest of the Ace’s locker room. Subsequently, the fans will now expect them to get their season back on track by building on this win. Can everyone witness a turnaround in their fortunes? Only time will tell.
