Just 4 games into the season, A’ja Wilson had already claimed the floor. She became the only player in the league to score 100+ points and 50+ rebounds. It was the Aces matchup against the Indiana Fever, where Wilson had scored 29 points and 15 rebounds. It was Wilson’s 4th consecutive double-double of the season, pushing it to the edge.
But that’s not all. The game took a significant turn after she made her 4th free throw as it broke the league record for 1000 made career free throws in just 193 games. With this feat, the 2024 WNBA MVP surpassed Angel McCoughtry and Breanna Stewart.
4 days later, the Aces came across the Minnesota Lynx. Yet again, Wilson made things more historic as she became the first player to record 20+ points and 10+ rebounds through 5 straight games. In the game, she had registered 29 points and 15 rebounds to achieve her longest double-double streak of her career.
Throughout the season, Wilson maintained her momentum and averaged 26.9 points (1st in the league), 11.9 rebounds (2nd in the league), 2.3 assists, and 2.6 blocks (1st in the league) per game. She remained the offensive leader for the Aces through the 40 regular season games.
