A’ja Wilson, the two-time WNBA MVP and Defensive Player of the Year, expanded her impressive list of titles to include MVP of the 2023 WNBA Finals. For the Gamecocks, Wilson was a hometown hero who helped them win their first NCAA championship in 2017 as well as their first Women’s Final Four in 2015. Wilson was raised in the nearby town of Hopkins, South Carolina. She was the first overall pick in the WNBA in 2018, the year she won the league title. In addition, she won three SEC Player of the Year awards and was a first-team All-American three times.

While her celebrity status makes it daunting for her to give interviews and podcasts, a national champion from her university has given her a shout to join in his podcast and grace the show, which A’ja Wilson has answered back on social media.

To which A’ja Wilson replied on her Instagram stories as she reposted the video and wrote, “Wow, the call out is crazy.” She further wrote, “Have your people call my people,” which expresses her readiness to share the podcast space with him.
