A'ja Wilson and the Aces supporting Sydney Colson—Is this the best team spirit in the WNBA?

With the Las Vegas Aces having clinched a playoff spot this season, their pursuit of a third consecutive WNBA title is well underway. As they sit comfortably in their playoff position, the team, including star player A’ja Wilson, has found some downtime. They’re using this opportunity not just to relax but also to rally around a teammate’s off-court project, showing their support and camaraderie beyond the game.

Recently, the Las Vegas Aces squad got together for a fun night out at Wild ‘n Out, the popular comedy series. A video on X shows the group taking the stage and joining their teammate Sydney Colson in a lively sing-along. A’ja Wilson is front and center while Kate Martin can be spotted behind as they clearly enjoy themselves at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Sydney Colson had previously shared that she would be featured on the show as a team captain, alongside Chance the Rapper and Lil’ Kim.

And as the whole group reached out to show their support for Colson, she couldn’t stop herself from expressing her gratitude. She retweeted the video on X and wrote, “I love my girls sooo much for coming up there though😂😂🫶🏾” She was all energy on stage, jumping and hyping up her teammates, urging them to sing along with her. In fact, that video on X captioned, “syd is the most unserious person pls 😭😭😭.”

But, this isn’t the first time Sydney Colson has shown off her playful side. She’s known for her hilarious antics on social media, where she regularly shares her sense of humor and playfully teases her friends. In fact, she took a dig at the national team post their Olympic victory.

A’ja Wilson and Sydney Colson’s lighthearted banter

After Team USA secured their historic eighth gold medal at the Paris Olympics, A’ja Wilson shared a celebratory moment on her Instagram story. She posted a picture of the team proudly posing with their gold medals, capturing the joy of their post-final celebrations. Alongside the photo, Wilson affectionately captioned it, “Whatta group,” expressing her love for her teammates.

However, as soon it caught Sydney Colson’s attention, she instantly took a snap of her Aces teammate’s story and then later took a jibe at her. She posted that snapshot on X and wrote, “Whatta groupppp’ some sh*t just fake to me”.

Colson didn’t find her name in the Olympic rosters back in May and Wilson just used that point to give her a playful reply for comments on her story. She retweeted Colson’s post and wrote, “jealously is just love and hate at the same time.” Though Colson wasn’t part of Team USA, she throughout made jokes and roasted players. With her participation at Wild ‘n Out, the lighthearted moments keep the Las Vegas Aces’ team spirit strong for their three-peat mission.
