The highly anticipated game between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever will start in a few minutes. The game is expected to bring out their rivalry dynamics. While Clark had rejected any such animosity between the two, Reese after her previous game loss had taken a dig at Clark and blamed the referees for their partial decision. However, after two straight losses against Fever, the Sky rookie is adamant not to face another loss.

Before the third matchup against the Fever, Angel Reese looked confident during the pre-match interview and blew her victory buzzer. Let’s see what she had to say.

When Reese was asked about her strengths and how she would defeat the Indiana Fever, the 22-year-old highlighted that her strength lies in rebounding. She further revealed that she didn’t want to let her teammates down.

“I mean my strength is rebounding and I know that’s what I can do. And coming to the league, I do not have much choice easily. So being able to come in and do my job every day…I just want to do my job. And never let my teammates down so coming in…I mean, if I get a double-double…I get a double-double. But just being able to do whatever it takes,” Reese stated, via Chicago State of Mind Sports.

Reese has been a prolific scorer for the Chicago Sky. She is the only rookie to average a double-double for seven consecutive matchups. Right now she has scored 12.4 points per game with 10.8 rebounds per contest. Apart from that, she also has 2.1 assists per game. Therefore, Reese is the mainstay for the Sky and fans will be excited that she is looking forward to scoring a double-double.

Meanwhile, this is the third game between the Sky and the Fever. The Fever have won the previous two with the second one being a convincing win. The Sky are yet to show their supremacy to the Fever on the hardwood. Indiana, on the other hand, is on a 4-match winning streak and looks like they have found ground after an abysmal start to the season. But the main question is if Reese will deliver what she has promised.

The previous two matchups between the rookies have resulted in high physicality that has managed to gain quite some traction. However, both Reese and Clark later clarified that the game between them is only a “basketball play“. This is how they put off the escalated tension after Reese was seen cheering and clapping for her teammate Chennedy Carter when she shoved Clark.

Further, Clark has stated that the rivalry between the two is nothing except what’s been created by the media. “I’m pretty sure that the only people who view this as a rivalry is all of you. For us, it’s just a game of basketball,” Clark stated while speaking to the media on June 21.

As an exciting game awaits at the Wintrust Arena, what the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever will unfold has left many to wonder. Hopefully, for her fans, Reese will do justice to her talent as her admirers watch the game from the sideline.
