Caitlin Clark and her loving boyfriend Connor McCaffery are back together. No, they hadn’t separated. McCaffery just spent some time away from her WNBA Rookie of the Year girlfriend to attend a close friend’s wedding with just the boys. “Hell of a run,” he commented under Austin Ash’s Instagram post, who is an Iowa Hawkeyes freshman.
While Clark’s fans were somewhat disappointed with her absence considering she’s free with the Indiana Fever’s 2024 season ending in the first round of the playoffs, the power couple is back on track with their offseason plans. After the Fever’s 87-81 Game 2 loss against the Connecticut Sun, she was asked about her offseason plans. “I was focused on beating the Connecticut Sun,” she said.
“I haven’t thought that too far down the line. I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow. I don’t know what I’m going to do the next day,” Clark further emphasized. However, she knew one thing for sure – time on the golf course was a must.

“Maybe play some golf. I think that’s what I’m going to do until it gets too cold in Indiana. I’ll become a professional golfer,” she humorously added. Only 10 days into the long offseason, she has taken the first step to ticking this box. Clark posted an Instagram story from her day at a lush green golf course, which Connor reposted on his story.
This will surely satisfy the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association), who had responded to her offseason plans on X. “Count us in, Caitlin Clark,” was their reply. However, this isn’t the first time the 6-foot Fever Guard has expressed her love for this rich man’s sport.

How golf helps Caitlin Clark “escape reality” for some time with her boyfriend and friends
Caitlin Clark and Connor McCaffery met on the Iowa University campus, playing for the Hawkeyes. Ever since they disclosed their relationship to the public in 2023, they cannot make plans without being spotted. Moreover, the Fever rookie’s legendary record-breaking spree in college and the WNBA keeps the spotlight shining bright. If you add Connor’s new coaching gig at Butler University to this list, the golf course is one of the few places they find privacy and solace.
In 2023, similar to today’s Instagram story, Clark shared a snap from the Brown Deer Golf Club on her story. In a later interview with Golf Digest, she admitted, “That’s what (playing golf) I was looking forward to the most with basketball ending.” But you might be thinking, why golf? The WNBA star finds that “You can clear your mind, do something you really love, and have the peace and quiet of just your friends around or even just yourself” on the green.
