Angel Reese hosting SNL—Is this the crossover moment women's basketball needs to hit mainstream?

The All-Star Weekend managed to live up to the hype. However, the fun did not just end on the basketball court. In fact, some events got us information that only these superstar players would know. For the Chi-Town Barbie, Angel Reese, it was all about the entertainment aspect after her Team WNBA won against Team USA. And since only the Grammy Award-winning artist Pitbull was present in the Footprint Arena, Reese added some of her favorite rappers to her SNL episode, if she ever hosts one.

While talking to Michele Steele of ESPN, Angel Reese dropped four names that she would want as her musical guests in her hosted SNL. She said, “Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Latto, GloRilla, all the girls. Period!” Interestingly, these are the same singers that the Chicago Sky rookie has previously also invited. The only difference was that then, she was inviting them to her games.

Another fact about these women is that Angel Reese has already met them. Moreover, she even calls Megan Thee Stallion her twin sister, as both are tall and sassy. GloRilla also met the LSU alumna as she went to her concert back in May. For Cardi B, let’s just say that one of the reasons why Angel Reese’s MET Gala Birthday Celebrations got exponentially entertaining was the star’s company. Latto has already attended one of the Chicago Sky games this season.

But the All-Star weekend was not the end of Bayou Barbie’s vacation. She will be landing in Paris to support Team USA’s contention in numerous sports from the sidelines.

Angel Reese and her Paris diaries

Surely, more than anything, the 2023 National Champion would have loved to be a part of Team USA’s women’s basketball team. But since that could not happen due to her lack of experience and team chemistry with the vets, she still chose to cheer for them. Her latest Instagram story shows that the 22-year-old forward has already landed in France’s capital.

Have an interesting take?

Her caption for the story is, “cause babyyyy it already did😫😭im exhausted.” The response was to a ‘travel tip’ frame by Dr. Rick in the metro that said, “Don’t let traveling to Paris bring out the parent in you.” Seems like our Barbie is already tired from the busy schedule from her game to the All-Star Weekend and then flying out to Europe.

Still, we can count on her to be the best support that Team USA can possibly get. Surely, we can also assume that Angel Reese will be maximizing her 24 hours again despite the jet lag.
