The interviewer asked who among the four – Jackie Young, Kelsey Plum, A?ja Wilson and Chelsea Gray – was more likely to go on a Twitter rant and they unanimously pointed out to captain A?ja Wilson. Point guard Chelsea Gray was the first to point out A?ja Wilson after which both Jackie Young and Kelsey Plum joined in.

?Because I don?t play like? I don’t?think people understand. I am a whole human behind the phone, so like when you tweeting at me? You?re really tweeting at me. Like I get the blue check, I know you can?t really see me, but it coming to my phone. That notification is here,? explained A?ja Wilson.

?What if they don?t actually?? interrupted Chelse Gray. ?Still, if … they come? If I see it screenshot anything? Let?s talk now. So yeah, I go on a twitter rant period. Because if you see me as a person, you are not going to say it to my face,? stated Wilson.

For the unversed, Wilson had roasted herself publicly after being monumental in crushing the Dallas Wings on the road to the WNBA Finals. Wilson was quick to point on social media that she came very close to achieving a triple-double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 9 turnovers. She pulled off tongue-in-cheek humor by stating on X that her performance came close to a triple-double and that it looked like an ?overdose.?

Hence, Wilson though a tough competitor on the court is equally hard on herself as she roasts herself publicly too. This is similar to how basketball legend Kevin Durant has been on social media.

Durant had earlier in June responded to a fan asking why he indulges in battles with haters on the social media platform. Taking cognizance of the same, Durant had divulged that he uses the trolls as a source of motivation to perform better – ?Hate Drives Me,? Durant quipped.

With Wilson?s answers, it seems she too is walking the same path as Durant. And this will be made more evident depending on her performance during the WNBA Finals.
