Many fortnights after bringing glory to Vegas, the Aces are still displaying a deep sense of camaraderie and connection. Leading from the front, captain A’ja Wilson threw her weight behind her injured teammate for her unwavering support. Touched by the champ’s remarks, Candace Parker couldn’t stop herself from sharing a heartfelt message.

The Las Vegas Aces were a force to be reckoned with in the 2023 WNBA season, with players like A’ja Wilson, Candace Parker, Kelsey Plum, and many more. They were all set to take over the league, but in a disheartening change of events Parker had to be sidelined from the game. She had to undergo surgery for a foot fracture she suffered from in June. But, this didn’t stop the star from being with her team in every match and cheering for them as they won the 2023 WNBA championship.

In her response, Wilson said, “When you’re talking about a goat! Candace is my goat and forever will be. It was just truly amazing to be her teammate and I didn’t even want to fangirl because I’m like alright, you, my teammate. We in the locker room together. Like, We’re good, but it was just like, 13-year-old A’ja, like, what? Like you were my screensaver, I went to Tennessee to see your jersey retirement. And now, you’re feeding me information, now, you’re telling me how I could continue to grow this game and it’s funny because when she was trying to figure it out. I texted her, I was like, ‘You know, we could take this league over, right?’ She was like, ‘All right! Let’s see.’ Every single day she was there and we really appreciate her for doing that.”

Left in awe by this, Candace Parker took to her Instagram handle, to post this on her stories, “You got the keys! HUMBLED to be your teammate. You keep me young.”
