Looking for a change of scenery from the hardwood floor to the golf greens, Caitlin Clark had just one goal in mind. Put to use all she had practiced and don’t hit anyone. Well, that makes it two goals, but she almost failed at the second one when her very first shot errantly went into a crowd on the side. Nevertheless, the Pro-Am round with Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam went as well as could be expected. So are her scores out yet?

At the Women’s Leadership Summit yesterday, Clark revealed some of her regular golf stats and they have left fans impressed. Perhaps that’s why World No. 1 Korda said the Fever player didn’t ask her for tips beforehand. Although her first swing went into the crowd, everyone laughed because no one had actually been hit. Clark joked to them, “You could’ve got my shoes or something.”

Maybe because it’s the Pro-Am round, but scores for Clark’s round have not been released yet and it was reported that it’s a scramble. But her talent was visible as she hit a birdie in one round, and when she hit a curve shot, the Fever player could be seen celebrating with a jump kick in her pink Nikes!

By the third hole, she had the Pelican Golf Club cheering for her as she teed it off. But the claps were even louder when she later pulled off a smooth putt on the grass, and it was noticeable how even pro golfers don’t draw a crowd like Caitlin Clark. Korda was with her for the first nine holes, whereas Sorenstam came in for the last nine.

While her first shot had fans online saying how they related to the “amateur golfer” in her own words, probably the only time it would happen, her 18th shot was a near perfect shot. Clark could be heard saying, “I saved the best for last.”

At the event yesterday, the WNBA Rookie of the Year stated, “My handicap is like 16. Stroke-a-hole, average golfer.” For someone who plays an entirely different sport for a living, it’s a pretty good number! “But usually I’m just praying to break 100.”

Caitlin Clark reveals the only downside to basketball that golf doesn’t have

When Caitlin Clark revealed that she would become a professional golfer in the Indiana Fever exit interview, she was kind of speaking the truth. After playing basketball non-stop since November 2023, the Iowa sensation is doing everything she can to take a break while also staying active. And that involves staying outdoors.

“What’s so beautiful about golf is, I think, being outside, I love that,” Clark said at the Women’s Leadership Summit event yesterday. “That’s the one bad thing about the WNBA. It’s in the spring and summer, fall. I miss a lot of opportunity to play golf. Now that the season ended, I try to play as much as I can.”

For someone as competitive as Caitlin Clark, there is nothing better than playing sports she’s good at. While fans will have to wait a while before she steps foot on the basketball court again, who knows, she might take up yet another game! Will it be soccer this time? Or one of the many other sports she’s talented at? It’s anyone’s guess.
