Is A'ja Wilson setting a new trend in sports fashion with her viral Olympics attire?

It might have been raining on July 27th, at the opening ceremony of the Summer Games in Paris, but it wasn’t enough to stop Team USA from making some memories as they cruised along the Seine River. Batches were exchanged, selfies were clicked, and sporting phenoms introduced. But it was the scoring queen, A’ja Wilson’s quirkiness, that stood out for the power couple – Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe among the 594 athletes on the vessel.

Megan Rapinoe and Sue Bird sat down to discuss this year’s Olympics on their show, “A Touch More.” For them, sharing the things that captured their attention was a priority. This Olympics, it’s A’ja Wilson’s Olympic rings shades. “So, A’ja Wilson pops up on the screen about to get interviewed, and she had those Olympic ring glasses,” Sue Bird recalled. In the pouring rain, the Aces’ star opted for an extra piece of fashion paired with her Team USA Ralph Lauren outfit. The Olympic rings that framed her glasses left Bird and Rapinoe with two different reactions.

Sue added, “I said I could never pull that off, and Megan said I need a pair of those immediately.” Taking it from there, Rapinoe continues, “I was like, immediately, where do they come from? Was that in their pack?… Can I buy them?”

Well, it wasn’t in her ‘pack.‘ It was something she got as a gift from NBA legend, Stephen Curry. Just ahead of the opening ceremony, she penned, “(Thanks) @StephenCurry30 for the shades,” on her official X account. Sure enough, the shades were worth giving a glance from lovebirds. For Wilson isn’t the only one rocking the Olympics with her fashion.

There’s nothing like turning heads with your gigantic fit, especially with your beloved. Just ask the power couple, Bird and Rapinoe. The basketball legend and the soccer standout have been among the best dressed for a while now. So, how would they not use the Olympic venue to turn heads? Sue Bird, just like herself, kept it simple yet elegant with Nike shorts having bold teal checked print paired with classic white Nike Cortez kicks.

The biggest flex was her wearing a TOGETHXR shirt, a special edition produced for these Summer Games. Rapinoe, on the other hand, opted to stay true to form at the Olympic Games. She stunned in glimmering baggy shorts from the brand, the Cult Japanese label Needles. She matched them with a drapey quarter-sleeve tee paired with Nike Killshot 2 shoes and green floral socks.

Wait, the best part is yet to come! It’s her strongest suit: accessories. This time she drew attention to the fit by pairing it with an elegant silk scarf and chunky pink shades. Despite dressing for the summer heat, giving it a Parisian touch goes a long way. Although Rapinoe and Bird have called time on the Olympics, they still reign as the best dressed at the Summer Games. What do you think?
