Ionescu’s journey with the brand has been a phenomenal ride, as she shines with pure elements of guidance received from her former mentor and NBA Legend, Kobe Bryant. Earlier this year, Sabrina signed up with Nike and launched her signature shoes, the ‘Sabrina 1s’, which are Nike’s first unisex sneakers. This is the reason, the shoes have been embraced by several NBA players.

In a recent Instagram post, Sabrina, in collaboration with Boardroom, shared a collection of pictures depicting people’s reactions to her signature shoes. Also, the post contained different quotes from Sabrina as she reflected on her first year with a signature shoe. “It’s one of the highest honors in our game and something beyond humbling to be a part of,” read the first one.

Followed by, “I’m not gonna lie, every NBA game that’s on, that’s all I’m watching for. Who’s wearing my shoes? Who’s got’em on?” she says on receiving the support from notable NBA stars, like Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Jordan Clarkson, Jrue Holiday, DaQuan Jeffries, and Corey Kispert, as they have been spotted wearing the Sabrina 1 on game days. Especially, Bridges, who sported the Sabrina 1s during international play and also at team events.

Sabrina, on inspiring the next generation of female hoopers, said in the post, “I’m already seeing what it can mean for the young girl that is growing up in this world…that there is representation.”

The collective post has been captioned, “@sabrina_i joined rare company when she launched her signature shoe with Nike earlier this year. In her own words, the @nyliberty star lets us in on how life has been since.”

Indeed the design is a true reflection of Sabrina’s statement, “When I was in the process of designing this shoe, I wanted anyone anywhere to be able to put this shoe on and accomplish whatever it is that they wanted to.”
