There is no doubt that Travis Kelce is one of the finest TEs in all of the NFL. Some might even claim he is one of the best in the modern era. But his recent performances have been subpar. With the big game against the Philadelphia Eagles around the corner, will #87 step up?

The presence of Taylor Swift at the Kansas City Chiefs has been helping Kelce out. The last two of the Chiefs’ games have been away ones, including the one in Frankfurt. This Monday, they return to Arrowhead Stadium and Swift won’t be there. Can Kelce break his dry spell without her?

The two-time Super Bowl winner has been phenomenal for so many years. This season as well, he has created plays, made touchdowns, and has been the primary catcher for QB Patrick Mahomes. Kelce has broken records, but in the last couple of games, his form has betrayed him.

In his last two games; he lost against the Denver Broncos and won against the Miami Dolphins. Kelce has received the pass only 9 times while covering only 72 yards. In these two games, Kelce’s TDs have also dried up. He didn’t score any! His last TD was against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 7, a game that Swift attended in all red.

Coincidentally, these are the two games where 12X Grammy winner Swift hasn’t come to the stadium to watch the TE play. Since Swift is busy with the international leg of her Eras Tour, she won’t make it this time as well. But we shouldn’t count out Travis Kelce.

TE Kelce is dangerous at all times

English soccer player Gary Neville once said, “Form is temporary, class is permanent”. Nobody exemplifies this saying more than Travis Kelce himself. He is known to step up in big games, and his next rivals, the Eagles, know that all too well.

No occasion is bigger than the Super Bowl and at Super Bowl LVII, the last time the Chiefs and the Eagles met, Kelce showed his class. In the dying minutes of the game, Kelce scored an emphatic TD to win the game 38-35 for the Chiefs.

As the Eagles prepare to land at the Arrowhead Stadium for this historic clash, they’d still be haunted by the memories of Kelce’s TD. While Kelce will be hoping to repeat that kind of performance, with or without Swift watching from the stands.
